Art of Cooking Blog Day 8

     Today in Art of Cooking, we made some cupcakes with a icing choice of either buttercream or cream cheese icing. We started by prepping the the batter for the cupcakes using an electric mixer to mix all of the main ingredients together. After that, we used ice cream scoops to put a portion of batter into each indent in the baking tray, and we would bake these for approx. ~45mins. We focused on making these cupcakes from scratch, and making the best we possibly can. These cupcakes also tasted like some of the most original cupcakes I've ever had, and most people in this J-Term can agree with me. While they were in the oven, most groups were responsible for making icing that their group would use to ice their cupcakes. I was within a group which had one of the cream cheese recipes, it contains; Cream Cheese, Butter, Vanilla, Powdered Sugar.

Today, we also looked at a very interesting carrot cake recipe with: Olive Oil, Coconut Shavings, Crushed Walnuts, etc. In my opinion, this was a odd tasting and strange recipe for sure, but it was also in interesting introspect of carrot cake. Overall, this was a great day, and I am looking forward to baking more with my cooking group.
